Emily grew up on the pool deck and swam competitively for 18 years. Her swimming career started at the Terre Haute Torpedos at the age of 5. She then moved to Philadelphia and swam for Germantown Academy Aquatic Club and Germantown Academy High School team. In high school she was a team captain 2 years in a row, recipient of the sportsmanship award 2 years in a row, was named All Inter-Ac League 3 years in a row and was an All American for 3 years. She then finished out her swimming career at DePauw University, graduating "Cum Laude" with a Bachelors of Communications and a Minor in English Writing. There she was a captain her senior year, a member of the Media Fellows Honors Program, member of the deans list for 3 years, named to the athletics honor roll for 4 years and served as a member of the Executive Board in her sorority for 2 years. She swam the 200 free, 200 IM, 500 free, 400 IM and 200 butterfly.

In the summers (2016-2022), Emily would coach the North Hills Country Club team until she moved to Indianapolis post graduation in 2023 and started her job as a healthcare recruiter. Emily loves to spend time with her family and friends. She missed the sport of swimming and is so happy to be back around it at FAST and coaching the TC3 group.
