The FAST Tigers Race To First At The 2010 Center Grove Aquatic Club Invite!

It was an exciting weekend of swimming for the FAST Tigers as they traveled to Greenwood, Indiana to compete in the Center Grove Aquatic Club Winter Invitational, held January 29-31, 2010. Thirteen teams from all over the state converged on Greenwood to make it a great and competitive event. The FAST Tigers were represented by 64 swimmers and finished 1^st out of 13 teams as they raced to 214 lifetime best times, 8 team records and had 12 event winners.

The FAST Tigers won the meet with 3,835 points, while the Center Grove Aquatic Club finished second with 3,244 points, and Riverside Aquatic Club came in third with 2,180 points. Indian Creek Aquatic Club finished fourth with 1,046 points.

Swimmers that broke team records for the FAST Tigers included Corinne Yorkman (7-8 Girls), Abbey Schneider (11-12 Girls) and Sam Sanchez (6 & Under Boys). Individual event winners were Alexandra Clarke (13-14 Girls), Luke Ingram (11-12 Boys), Margaret Jahns (11-12 Girls), Erin Moe (13-14 Girls), Ethan Moe (9-10 Boys), Bailie Pelletier (11-12 Girls), Abbey Schneider (11-12 Girls), Carissa Schneider (9-10 Girls), Allison Sperring (9-10 Girls), Jacob Stopkotte (9-10 Boys), Noah Stopkotte (11-12 Boys) and Corinne Yorkman (7-8 Girls).

The FAST Tigers also had numerous high point finishers. Overall, Corinne Yorkman scored first among 8 & Under Girls, Ally Sperring scored 2^nd among 10 & Under Girls, Jacob Stopkotte and AJ Waltermann scored 1^st and 2^nd respectively among 10 & Under Boys and Erin Moe and Alex Clarke scored 1^st and 2^nd respectively in the Open Girls Individual standings.

Other top-eight finishers for FAST included Emily Baumgartner (11-12 Girls), Brandi Brown (13-14 Girls), Rebecca Carr (11-12 Girls), Madelyn Christman (6 & Under Girls), Zoe Cochran (11-12 Girls), Meghan Curran (11-12 Girls), Adrienne DeBrosse (13-14 Girls), Claire Denny (11-12 Girls), Max Eden (13-14 Boys), Carrigan Hayes (11-12 Girls), James Helfer (9-10 Girls), Mikaela Hickey (13-14 Girls), Jared Hyatt ( 8 & Under Boys), Bradley Jacobs (13-14 Boys), Abigail Jahns (8 & Under Girls), Katie Lemen (13-14 Girls), Rachel Meyer (9-10 Girls), Emily Moser (13-14 Girls), Lauryn Parrish (11-12 Girls), Elisabeth Peskin (11-12 Girls), Courtney Pfanstiel (13-14 Girls), Nicholas Pfanstiel (13-14 Boys), Elizabeth Pfeifer (11-12 Girls),  Emma Roehrdanz (11-12 Girls), Samuel Sanchez (6 & Under Boys), Jacob Shemon (13-14 Boys), Andrew Waltermann (9-10 Boys), Aidan Walton (8 & Under Boys), Jacob Weaver (11-12 Boys), Camryn Wylam (9-10 Girls) and Nolan Yorkman (9-10 Boys).

Outstanding performers that had 66% lifetime bests or better included Emily Baumgartner (2/3), Grace Becker (5/7), Lily Betner (5/7), Haili Brown (6/6), Hannah Brungard (3/4), Natalie Carmack (4/6), Rebecca Carr (7/8), Zoe Cochran (6/6), Meghan Curran (4/5), Erica Fiddler (2/3), Luke Ingram (6/8), Maggie Jahns (6/7),  Harrison Jordan (4/4), Bryce Miller (2/3),  Keeley Miller (3/3), Emily Moser (4/5), Elisabeth Peskin (5/7),  Courtney Pfanstiel (4/5), Nicholas Pfanstiel (5/5), Emma Roehrdanz (5/7), Jonah Sanchez (4/6), Abbeygale Schneider (5/6), Jacob Stopkotte (10/11) and Camryn Wylam (4/5).

During the course of the meet, 46 FAST Swimmers swam to a bevy of qualifying times for championship meets. Zoe Cochran, Emma Roehrdanz, Max Eden and Nicholas Pfanstiel, all qualified for the 2010 Indiana Age Group State Championships, being held March 19-21 at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis. Rebecca Carr achieved her first-ever cutoff time for 2010 Indiana Senior State Championships, being held March 12-14 at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis. Carr, Abbey Schneider and Brad Jacobs raced to cutoff times for the National Age Group Swim Association's Showcase Classic, being held April 6-10 in Coral Springs, Florida.  Bailie Pelletier and Jacob Stopkotte became qualifiers for the 2010 Central Zone Championships, being held August 6-8 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The FAST Tigers will be back in action at Fishers HS on Friday, February 5^th for the FAST Friday Night Races XXXII.
