FAST Tigers Qualified To The 2008 Central MegaZone Championships (8/6-10/08)
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Swimming Inc. and the IU Natatorium, with support from the IHSAA, Indy Starz Diving, Indy SwimFit, and the Indiana Sports Corporation, will co-host the 2008 Central MegaZone Swimming Championships August 6 – 10 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI. The meet will feature a record number of 1931 of the Midwest's finest young swimmers ages 8 to 18, representing 14 Midwestern states. This number eclipses the record of 1719 participants in 2003 becoming the largest Age Group 18 & under swimming competition in the country to date. 100% of the revenue from this collaborative effort will be donated directly to the IU Natatorium renovation and restoration fund to insure that future generations of athletes will have the opportunity to compete in this historical venue.
The MegaZone Championships were held at the IU Natatorium in
2003 with Team Indiana winning the Pool Competition and placing
third in the Open Water Competition. In 2003, meet records were
broken in 54 of the 180 swimming events. This year Head Coach
Ken Stopkotte of the Fishers Area Swim Team will lead 303
Indiana athletes in pursuit of the team titles, which is the
largest Zone team in Indiana Swimming history. Starting Times are for pool competition at the IU Natatorium are 8:00am for preliminaries with finals sessions starting at 5:45 (5:15pm on Sunday) for 13-18 yr. old swimmers; competition begins each day for 12 year old and younger swimmers at 2:00pm. Wednesday’s Open Water Competition held at Eagle Creek Reservoir begins at 8:00am for 13 & over swimmers and 9:30am for 12 & under swimmers. For more information visit www.allgreatracers.com

FAST Tigers Qualified To The 2008 Central MegaZone Championships (8/6-10/08)
Congratulations to the 19 FAST Tigers that have qualified to the 2008 Central MegaZone Championships, to be held August 6-10, 2008 at IUPUI Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis. Qualifying for this meet is a great honor and accomplishment as the swimmers earn the right to represent Team Indiana against fourteen other LSCs from across the USA. The meet promises to be the most exciting age group swimming meet in the country this summer.
For those of you that have qualified (or are close to qualifying) and know you will be attending, please download the information, picture info, code of conduct and medical form by clicking here. Please make sure you fill everything out and turn it back into Ken.
As a reward for qualifying, FAST will cover the $10.00 entry fee and the basic apparel package ($35.00 value). If you pictures or add-ons to the basic package you are responsible for paying the difference. To download the apparel/outfitting order form, please click here.

FAST Tigers Qualified To The 2008 Indiana Age Group State Long Course Championships (8/1-3/08)
The 2008 Indiana Long Course Age Group State
Championship, being held Friday through Sunday, August
1-3, 2008 at Donner Aquatic Center in Columbus, Indiana
is coming up this weekend. It is a very exciting time
to be a FAST Tiger as we have 25 individual qualifiers
and will be bringing an additional 25 swimmers for
relays. Overall, there will be 50+ FAST Tigers
competing in Columbus this weekend!

Prelims Be There @ 6:30 AM
Prelims Warm-Up @ 6:45-7:45 AM

Please read over a couple of very important
notes...
1. The meet is being held in Columbus, Indiana
at Donner Aquatic Center. The Donner Aquatic Center is
an outdoor pool in a park area. We will have two large
tents in the team area and the coaches will have a tent
on deck.
2. The 11-12 and 13-14 session warm-ups will
begin at 6:45 AM and the meet starts at 8:00 AM all
three days. Please be at the pool at 6:30 AM 10 and
Under warm-ups will not start before 1:00 PM and the
meet will not start before 1:45 PM. Please be at the
pool at 12:45 PM
3. There are 13-14 relays on all three days of
the meet. 11-12 and 10 and under relays are on Saturday
and Sunday. Relay-only swimmers do not have to be there
at the beginning of the warm-ups each day if they are
coming down from Fishers, unless their relay is the very
1st event of the session. For the relays at the end of
the session, there is a diving well with lane ropes that
will be available for warm-up during the meet. When the
coaches have access to the timeline of when the relays
will be swum, we will let the relay-only swimmers know
when to be there.
4. On Thursday, July 31, 2008, there will be a
practice for all FAST Age Group State participants from
10:00-11:00 AM at Fishers HS and then a lunch right
after. It doesn't matter what group you're in, please
be there at 10:00 AM. We will have a short meeting, a
warm-up and do relay starts.
5. Also, on Thursday, July 31, 2008, FAST has
reserved two lanes at the Donner Aquatic Center from
5:15-7:15 PM. If your family is going stay overnight in
Columbus on Thursday, I would highly recommend taking
advantage of this opportunity to get in and swim in
the pool. It will just be a warm-up and you can come in
anytime between 5:15-7:15 PM. Swimmers will not be in
the water for the whole two hours...it is just a warm-up
that will be used to get acquainted with the pool.
6. We still have rooms available at the team
hotel if you'd like a room. The info is as follows...

July 31 (Check-In) to Sunday, August 3 (Check-Out).

FAST Tigers Finish Sixth At The 2008 Indiana Swimming Open Water Champs! The FAST Tigers started off the championship phase of the 2008 Summer season with an impressive sixth place finish, out of 30 teams, at the 2008 Indiana Swimming Open Water Championships, held July 8, 2008 at Lake Clare in Huntington, Indiana. The 2008 Open Water Championship meet featured over 315 athletes representing 30 teams from all over Indiana. Southwest Allen County finished first with 597 points, followed by Washington Township Swim Club, Southeastern Swim Club, Fort Wayne Aquatics and Zionsville rounding out the top five. The FAST Tigers' 136 points were good enough for sixth place. The 13-14 Girls relay team of Alex Carmack, Emily Moe and Erin Moe won the state title. The girls victory marked the first-ever relay title for the FAST Tigers in the Open Water Championships.
