
Jay Chambers

Jay Chambers has been with the FAST Tigers &
Fishers HS Swimming & Diving since the beginning in the fall of
2006. In his first year as the Head Age Group Coach for the
FAST Tigers, the team scored 900+ points from the previous year and
won the 2010 Indiana Long Course Age Group State team title.
During their glory years of the 1990s, he was the Head Age Group
Coach of Carmel Swim Club and Assistant Coach of Carmel High
School. Chambers has coached and developed numerous young
athletes to National Age Group and Indiana State Age Group
championships and records and been on the coaching staff of some of
the best teams in the history of Indiana. Regardless of the
talent or ability of his swimmers, Coach Chambers has inspired and
motivated countless young people over the years to unparalleled
success both in and out of the pool.

Alec Haley

Alec began swimming at age 6 for the Carmel Swim
Club. He was the member of many state championship teams while
there. He swam for Coach Chambers as a 11-14 year old. He
moved to Casper Wyoming before starting his high school career. In
2002 he helped Kelly Walsh High School to its first swimming and
diving championship in school history. In 2003 he qualified
for, and finished 19th in the 200 Breaststroke at the
U.S Open. After graduating high school Alec chose to continue his
swimming career at Indiana University. In 2005 he was a finalist in
both the 200 Breast and the 400 IM and World Championship Trials.
In 2006 helped IU to its first Big Ten Championship in 21 years. He
was named team captain for the 2007-2008 season and helped lead the
Hoosiers to a 10th place finish in the nation that year.
He finished his swimming career by competing in the 200 Breast and
400 IM at the 2008 Olympic Trails in Omaha, Nebraska.

Steve Sanchez

Steve Sanchez began swimming competitively at
the age of 8 for Delta Waves
under Craig Carson in Antioch, CA. He also swam at CPH, now
Terrapins Swim Team, under Ray Mitchell. While a part of these
programs he was ranked nationally in the Top 16 and received
numerous Pacific Swimming Swimmer of the Year awards. Steve
ended his competitive swimming career as a member of the Indiana
University Men’s swim team under Kris Kirschner. Steve
coached age group swimmers throughout his swimming career and has
been with FAST for two seasons. Steve has two sons, Jonah and
Sam, on the FAST Tigers.

Michael Unger

Michael Unger is from Carmel, Indiana and
started swimming on a neighborhood swim club, Woodland Swim Team,
when he was seven-years-old during the summers up until he was
14-years-old. When Michael was 10-years-old, he joined the
Washington Township Swim Club (WTSC) where he swam for Mark Hesse
and Tom Jewel through his sophomore year of high school He
swam for Carmel Swim Club under Ken Stopkotte during his Junior and
Senior year of high school. Michael is a graduate of Carmel
High School (2002) where he swam all four years. Michael was
coached by Tony Young during his Freshman and Sophomore years and
Stopkotte his Junior and Senior years. Carmel won the IHSAA
Men’s HS State Championship both Michael’s Junior
(2001) and Senior (2002) year of high school. The 2002 Carmel
team is regarded as one of the best men’s swimming and diving
teams in the history of the IHSAA. In 2001, Michael was a key
member of the 200 Freestyle Relay team that won the state
title. After he graduated from Carmel, Michael swam
collegiately at Vincennes University under Coach TJ Day.
During Michael’s Freshman year, Vincennes finished second in
the team standings at the Junior College Nationals. At
Vincennes, he earned an Associates Degree in Commercial Art and
Graphic Design. For his impressive swimming accomplishments,
Michael has the distinction of achieving All-American status at
both the high school and junior college
level.

Trevor Haley
Blue Tiger Trainer

Trevor Haley began swimming
competitively at the age of 5 for Carmel Swim Club. He
competed on several club State Championship teams while with
Carmel. He has set several club and state records (some of which
still stand today) in his years of swimming. He was a 2000
Olympic Trial qualifier in the 400 Individual Medley as well as
competing in numerous Senior National, Junior National, and US Open
events. He has had the privilege to train under several different
and accomplished coaches including FAST’s Coach Chambers.
Trevor swam collegiately for the University of Iowa from 2002-2006
under Coach Marc Long and Frannie Malone. He earned his
Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2006 and has worked in the
financial services industry since completing his coursework. As a
coach, Trevor has worked with swimmers of all ages from 8 and under
to High School. He is the older brother of current FAST coach
Alec Haley.

Stephanie L Moles
White Tiger Trainer

A recent graduate of Butler University, Moles
swam under Maurice Stewart for the past four years focusing her
efforts in distance free events. During her time as a Bulldog,
Moles place 16th in the 2007 Horizon League
Championships in the 200 Free and holds two individual Butler Top
Ten Times in the 1000 and 1650 free as well as four Top Ten relay
times. During the 2008-2009 season Moles was named “Most
Improved” and during her senior year was named Captain as
well as the recipient of the “Coaches Award.” Prior to
becoming a Bulldog, Moles swam for Franklin Central High School
where she was holds the school record as part of the 200 Medley
Relay. During her time as a Flash, Moles was the sectional winner
in the 500 free and made state appearances in both relays and the
500 free. Currently, Moles is seeking her Masters at the IU School
of Medicine in Public Health.

Karen Gernert

Until August 2009, Karen's only swimming experience was
participating on her high school’s synchronized swimming
team. But, due to her daughter's involvement with the FAST, Karen
was introduced to the world of competitive swimming and began
training herself. Now having falling in love with both swimming and
competing, Karen trains with Indy Aquatic Masters (IAM) and
competes whenever possible. Karen holds IAM's Long Course Meters
records in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 50 Fly. In addition to
training with the team, Karen is acts as IAM's Communications
Manager and Assistant Coach. Karen is ASCA Level 1 / USA-S
certified. Her favorite stroke is butterfly.
Away from the pool, Karen works as the Marketing Coordinator for
Bangs Laboratories, enjoys tennis and softball, and plays chauffeur
for her teenage daughters.

Garland Wilson

Garland grew up swimming in St. Louis, MO for Sugar Creek and
Clayton Shaw Park swim clubs and was a member of the US
National Team from 1986-88. She swam in the 1987 Pan Pacific Games
placing 2nd to Janet Evans in the 400 IM.

Swam at Indiana University - Big Ten finalist, 200 backstroke
school record holder, team co-captain 1992-94

Currently lives in Fishers with husband Jay and children Bailey
(10), Austin (7), Mia (5) & Delaney (3). Also coaches at
the Fishers YMCA and coaches Summer Break Swim Club in the
summer. And I am thrilled to be joining
FAST!

Sharon Ramey

Sharon grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She began swimming when
she was 6 years old and swam through high school earning four trips
to the Ohio State High School Championship meet. Sharon was
named Cincinnati Enquirer Student Athlete of the Year in 1990 and
was nominated for the LaRosa's Student Athlete of the Year 1990.
In 1991, she moved to Dayton, Ohio as a student athlete
attending Wright State University where she earned a full
scholarship for volleyball. She graduated with a degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling. Sharon also earned a Masters
Degree in Social Work from University of Cincinnati.
Sharon moved in Fishers, Indiana in the summer of 2012. She
started coaching with the Cincinnati Marlins in the fall of 2012,
helping out with the Mini and Bronze groups at the Marlins Central
location. Outside of swimming Sharon currently works with
teens with chronic illnesses and disabilities at Cincinnati
Children's Hospital. Sharon lives in Fishers, Indiana with
her husband, Jon, and three daughters, Charlie, JoJo, and Frankie.
